Kai Haalu Or Gasagse Haalu is a traditional dish used to make by my granny usually, we can have this Ottu Shavige, Idli or Kadubu. or you can drink as it is
Ingredients
- Gasasase (Poppy Seeds) - 2 tsp
- Jaggery 1 Cup
- Fresh Grated Coconut 1 Cup
- Milk 1 cup
- Cardamom 3
- Almonds Handful
- Cashew Handful
- Ghee 1 Tsp
Method
- Soak Poppy Seeds, Almonds, Cashew and Cardamon for 30 min in Hot Milk
- After 30 min, take everything together along with grated coconut and grind it a fine paste
- Now strain the mixture into a clean bowl, collect the milk from it
- Repeat this step for 2-3 times
- Meanwhile, take a cup of Jaggery add 1/2 cup water and bring to boil
- now add this poppy seeds milk into jaggey
- add little milk
- bring it to boil
- add a tsp of Ghee on Top
- Serve hot with Ottu Shavige or Kadubu
