Appam is a type of pancake, originating from South India, made with fermented rice batter and coconut milk, common in Kerala dosa. Normal serves chutney
Ingredients
- Raw rice 5 glasses
- Salt
- Coconut 1 cup
Method
- Soak 5 glasses of raw rice for 4 to 5 hrs
- Take one glass rice in soaked rice and grind it roughly like rava.
- Pour it to thick bottom bowl and add 4 glasses of water mix it and boil it untill thickens. Let it cool.
- Now grind left 4 glasses of rice as smooth paste with cocnut and little water (dont use too much water).
- Then mix it with cooled ganji.
- Batter will be very thick.
- No need of adding water.
- After fermentation batter will be liquidy.
- Ferment it over night.
- Next day add salt and prepare dosa.
