Ghee Rice is a quick lunch box recipe rice flavoured with ghee and some whole spices, can ba paired with veg korma or any kind of gravy
Ingredients
Rice 1 cup
Ghee 4tbsp
Jeera 1 tsp
Bay leaf
Star Anise 2
Cinnamon 1 inch
Clove 4
Pepper 10
Cardamom
Salt
Milk 1 cup
Onion sliced 2
Sweet corn 1 cup (Optional)
Method
- In a cooker add ghee
- Once it's hot add whole spice and bay Leaf
- Now add free chilli and saute
- Add onions fry until translucent
- Now add sweet corn and salt fry well
- Now add washed and rice mix
- Add 1cup water and 1 cup milk
- Mix well, close the lid
- Pressure Cook it for one whistle
- Meanwhile heat a tsp of ghee in small ladle add cashews and fry until golden brown
- Once pressure comes down add cashews to gheerice, mix well
- Serve ghee rice hot with any korma or gravy
