DUMROOT aka Dum Ka Roat, This is one of the Sweet Dishes of South India. The Right Version of DUMROOT has been changed to the convenient recipe to Halwa, most of the people think Dumroot and Kashi Halwa are one and the same
Ingredients
- Sweet Pumpkin OR Yellow Pumpkin (Grated) 1 bowl
- Condensed MIlk 1/2 tin
- Ghee 1 cup
- Cashew 1 tsp
- Almonds 1 tsp
- Raisins 1 tsp
- Elachi 1 tsp
- Milk 1/2 cup
Method
- Take a large Kadai, heat some ghee
- add all the dry nuts and fruits fry saute them and keep aside
- now to the same pan add grated pumpkin fry well
- add 1/2 cup milk and cook pumpkin until it is soft
- once water and milk evaporates from pumpkin add condensed milk
- check for sweetness and add more if needed
- cook them well make, once it starts leaving pan to add ghee and roasted nuts
- Let it cook down, meanwhile preheat the oven for 200 deg for 10 min
- transfer this pumpkin halwa to Greesed baking trey
- Bake it for 30-40 min until the top portion becomes crusty
- Garnish with Roasted almonds
- Serve Hot
