Lemon Rasam (Nimbe Hannu Sarru)



Lemon Rasam is easy to make and utterly delicious. Soothing spicy and tangy soothing drink best in winter as and rainy days.

Ingredients 

Lemon 1
Toor Dal 1/2 Cup
Salt
Green Chili 2
Coriander Leaves
Curry Leaves
Jeera 1 tsp
Pepper powder 1tsp
Ghee 1 tsp
Turmeric 1 tsp
Asafetida

Method

  • Pressure cook toor dal with 2 cups water, 1/2 tsp ghee and a pinch of turmeric 
  • Now transfer this to a vessel and add chopped green chiles, salt, Coriander Leaves and pepper powder
  • Let it boil for 10 min 
  • Now take small ladle, add ghee once hot, add jeera, asafetida and curry leaves 
  • Add this temper to rasam 
  • Switch off the stove, at last add the juice of one lemon 
  • Serve with hot rice and Ghee
